Head coach Marcelo Bielsa will be forced into making at least one change with England international defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips facing a spell on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
Spanish international centre-back Diego Llorente is also out and club captain centre-back Liam Cooper is a doubt - both with groin problems - whilst midfielder Adam Forshaw remains a long-term absentee with a hip issue. This is how we think the Whites will line up.
1. Illan Meslier (GK)
Absolutely nothing he could have done about Raul Jimenez's deflected winner in Monday night's 1-0 loss against Wolves and all set for still only a 17th start in goal for the Whites. Picture by Martin Rickett/PA Wire.
2. Stuart Dallas (RB)
Has made the left back slot his own but if Liam Cooper fails to make it then Luke Ayling will likely switch to centre-back meaning a gap at right back and Dallas seems the likely call. Jamie Shackleton another option. Picture by Bruce Rollinson.
3. Robin Koch (CB)
If Cooper is still missing then impressive German international Koch is the only available first-team natural centre-back with Diego Llorente already ruled out and Pascal Struijk set to move into midfield. Picture by Bruce Rollinson.
4. Luke Ayling (CB)
First choice right back but probably fifth choice centre-back after Koch, Cooper, Llorente and Struijk but it might be needs musts and Ayling is more than capable there. Surely partners Koch if Cooper is out. Picture by Bruce Rollinson.
5. Gjanni Alioski (LB)
Came to United as a winger but often used as a left back and seems the most likely to start there if Cooper is out and Dallas shifts to right back, unless Shackleton gets the nod. Leif Davis is another live option. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
6. Pascal Struijk (CDM)
A real find who is progressing at a lightning pace and Bielsa has already said the versatile Struijk will replace the injured Phillips in the holding midfield role. Could be United's saviour there over the coming weeks. Picture by Bruce Rollinson.
