Shackleton has started United's last two games in the absence of the injured Kalvin Phillips but Shackleton has himself suffered a setback which is believed to be a minor groin issue.

But Spanish international defender Llorente is now back fit and comes back into the side for his full home debut having been an unused substitute in Friday night's 1-0 loss at Wolves.

Phillips, Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Ian Poveda, Gaetano Berardi and Adam Forshaw remain sidelined.

Oli Casey replaces Leif Davis for the other change on the Whites bench in addition to Charlie Cresswell taking the place of Llorente.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has made three changes to his side and top scorer Danny Ings is only on the bench as former Whites target Che Adams starts.

Stuart Armstrong also returns straight to the starting XI from injury whilst Takumi Minamino and Moussa Djenepo also drop to the bench as Nathan Tella also starts for his full Premier League debut.

Benched trio Ings, Minamino and Djenepo are fine but Hasenhuttl has made the changes in search of starting 'fresh' players.
