Key battle - midfield: Mateusz Klich got a well deserved rest last weekend, missing the FA Cup game and should be restored to his place in the heart of the midfield. He's got to ensure Pascal Struijk, expected to play in place of the suspended Kalvin Phillips, has all the help he needs to keep Brighton out and to get Leeds moving forward. The more help Klich can give Struijk in terms of a defensive partner when Brighton attack and a passing option when Leeds have it, the more comfortable the young Dutchman will be. He's had some wobbly times in the role and could do with a steady one.

Brighton key man: Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma carries significant responsibility defensively for the Seagulls and is busier, making more tackles, than in his previous two seasons. His ability to recover the ball and the number of duels he wins helps Brighton to disrupt opposition possession and then he looks to quickly get them on the attack. With energy to burn, the 24-year-old has won admiring glances from so called 'big clubs' in the top flight. He missed the Manchester City game through suspension and will be well rested for the Elland Road clash.

Graham Smyth's verdict: Victory would be huge for Leeds, putting them 12 points ahead of the Seagulls, albeit having played one game more. A response, to the Spurs defeat and last weekend's horrific FA Cup result, is needed. That's what Leeds have been good at this season and they don't go too many games without a performance or a positive result. Both teams will be missing key players but there are players in the Leeds team with a lot to prove after Crawley. I expect a 2-1 win, with a Ben White goal for Brighton.
