Leeds United team news confirmed vs Tottenham with double injury boost as Lukas Nmecha starts

Leeds United face Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road this afternoon.

Daniel Farke has confirmed his Leeds United team to face Tottenham Hotspur with a pair of injury doubts making the matchday squad.

Leeds welcome an in-form Spurs side to Elland Road looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Farke’s side started well at the Vitality Stadium but crucial mistakes and a lack of attacking thrust cost them.

In his pre-game press conference on Thursday, Farke confirmed both Noah Okafor (adductor) and Anton Stach (toe) were major doubts while Dominic Calvert-Lewin was also managing a foot issue. Joe Rodon has been back in training all week after 10 weeks out.

James Trafford endured a difficult afternoon on the south coast with his mis-placed pass handing Bournemouth their opener. The goalkeeper was never going to lose his starting place, however, and will be desperate to atone for that error.

Leeds remain unchanged in defence ahead of Trafford despite Rodon’s return to fitness, with James Justin keeping his place alongside Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemovic. Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson also remain at right and left wing-back respectively.

Club captain Ethan Ampadu is one yellow card away from a suspension and starts in midfield. The Welshman is joined by Ao Tanaka and Sean Longstaff in a midfield three, the latter replacing Harry Wilson.

And the second change is further forward, with Lukas Nmecha starting in place of Daniel James. Farke looks to have moved back to a 3-5-2 formation with two out-and-out strikers.

Stach’s foot issue has kept him out of the matchday squad entirely although Okafor has been passed fit enough for the bench. He joins the likes of Wilson, James and Brenden Aaronson on the bench.

Leeds XI: Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Longstaff, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Nmecha, Calvert-Lewin

Subs: Zetterer, Bard, Bijol, Rodon, Gruev, James, Wilson, Aaronson, Okafor
