Leeds United are back on the road this weekend when they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland. The Whites came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home to Manchester United last time out with Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelling out Bryan Mbeumo’s first-half opener.
That point leaves Leeds seventh in the Premier League table but their Sunday afternoon hosts have endured a more difficult start to the campaign. Sunderland lost 2-0 at previously winless Bournemouth last weekend with results elsewhere plunging them into the relegation zone.
That defeat was compounded by the sending off of a key Black Cats defender who will now miss Sunday’s meeting with Leeds. And ahead of that game, the YEP rounds up the latest injury and team news from both teams.

1. OUT: Romaine Mundle
The 23-year-old forward has regularly been hit with hamstring problems and then suffered a meniscus injury earlier this season. Having undergone surgery, he's expected to be out until early 2027. | Getty Images

2. OUT: Dan Ballard
The towering defender picked up a hamstring injury during the most recent international break and was given a roughly six-week recovery timeline. That means he will almost certainly miss Leeds on Sunday. | Getty Images

3. OUT: Kevin Danso
The centre-back, who had started every game since joining on loan from Tottenham on deadline day, was sent off for denial of a goalscoring opportunity at Bournemouth on Sunday. He will now serve a one-match Premier League ban, missing the visit of Leeds. | Getty Images

4. DOUBT: Thomas Meunier
Meunier suffered a hamstring injury against Brighton earlier this month and missed Sunday's trip to Bournemouth. Le Bris admitted the issue is not serious and the Belgian could be involved against Lech Poznan this week. | Getty Images

5. DOUBT: Brian Brobbey
Picked up a hamstring injury during the international break and after being an unused substitute in Europe last week, he was absent from the squad at Bournemouth on Sunday. Boss Le Bris admitted the striker's return still needs to be carefully managed but hinted at a potential return this week. | Getty Images

6. DOUBT: Wilson Isidor
Isidor missed Sunderland's trips to Portuguese outfit Torreense and Bournemouth last week due to what Le Bris described as a 'minor injury'. The Sunderland boss added his striker would be assessed 'day by day', suggesting it's nothing too serious. | Getty Images
