Leeds United returned to winning ways and finally banished the lunchtime kick-off curse with a 1-0 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur - but how did we rate the performances?
Tottenham survived Leeds claims for a penalty as Mateus Fernandes attempted to chest the ball back to keeper Antonin Kinsky, VAR taking a look but judging that the midfielder had not committed a handball offence.
Neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled, albeit Whites stopper James Trafford made a few easy enough saves. Tottenham’s main threat though came from winger Mohammed Kudus who flashed a few dangerous crosses through the box.
But the real talking point of the first half concerned a Jayden Bogle foul on Mathys Tel who was eventually forced off injured, Bogle catching Tel on his heel and VAR checking for a possible red card but Bogle ultimately cleared after a nervy wait inside Elland Road.
Leeds, though, were hugely improved after the interval and Daniel Farke’s side bagged the only goal of the game with ten minutes left as two substitutes combined with Harry Wilson setting up Noah Okafor to blast home a clinical finish.
Leeds United writer Lee Sobot hands out the scores.

7. Ethan Ampadu
6 - A bit of a struggle for the skipper and his teammates in centre midfield to start with but much better after the break and he even had a few decent attempts at goal. | Getty Images

8. Ao Tanaka
7 - The liveliest centre midfielder in the first half who threw himself into lots of tackles and generally buzzed about. More energy after the break and a warm applause when he was subbed. | Getty Images

9. Sean Longstaff
6 - A struggle for Leeds in centre midfield to start with, played as the most advanced centre midfielder but pulled about a fair bit. A bit slopy after the break but kept going and very unlucky not to score. | Getty Images

10. Lukas Nmecha
5 - Frustrating first half with some loose passes and unable to make much impact. A bit better after the break but a frustrating afternoon all told. | Getty Images

11. Dominic Calvert-Lewin
6 - Barely had a sniff in the first half but the usual strong hold up play and much more lively after the break. Looked to be perhaps lacking a bit of sharpness which is understandable after his recent foot injury problems. | Getty Images

12. Melvin Bard (sub)
8 - On for Gudmundsson at the break and very quickly made an impact, charging about with a very energetic display and soon had the crowd chanting his name | Getty Images
