Triple Manchester United injury concern vs Leeds United as Michael Carrick confirms Lisandro Martinez decision
Leeds United’s weekend Premier League opponents have a few fitness doubts ahead of their trip to Elland Road.
Manchester United are sweating on the fitness of three first-team stars ahead of travelling to Leeds United - but a decision has been taken on Lisandro Martinez.
The Whites’ weekend opponents have endured a difficult period with manager Michael Carrick winless in five and under huge pressure. Man Utd lost 2-0 in the Champions League at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, with Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo both absent.
The pair featured in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend but Shaw picked up a thigh issue while Mainoo suffered a knock. Striker Benjamin Sesko hasn’t featured since the end of September due to a shin problem with all three still doubtful.

"We will see on Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo,” Carrick said. “Ben [Sesko] is still undergoing a couple of checks before we update on timelines. We are trying to be clear what that looks like. He is still a little bit further away but when we know a bit more we will let you know."
Martinez did feature in Madrid on Tuesday and grabbed the headlines with a bombshell post-match interview. The Argentinian insisted he ‘expected more’ from Man Utd in the transfer window and singled out technical director Jason Wilcox.
Recent reports suggest Martinez has been fined by Man Utd United while a public apology was posted via social media on Thursday. Carrick confirmed the combative defender would not receive any kind of suspension.
“He is part of the squad,” the Man Utd boss said. “"From the outside [you are] after some big information about big discussions but it was pretty simple. We all understood the situation and what it meant. He made his statement and acknowledges that it was a mistake from him and that was it really.
"We have a really good feeling from within the group. We have a really good feeling within the club from the inside. Results-wise it hasn't gone to plan of late but the spirit, the togetherness, again I said it but today was one of the better training sessions that we have had and you can see there's a real sense and a feeling within the group that we want to do something about this situation and want to do something about it quickly.
"We understand the situation that came up after the game but we feel that has been dealt with and we have moved on. Genuinely moved on and there's a freshness about the group today which I really liked."
