Whites boss Daniel Farke has provided the Leeds United team news for Sunday’s Roses derby against arch rivals Manchester United with a Whites fitness boost.

Harry Wilson (calf) and Jean-Matteo Bahoya (ankle) both returned from injuries to make the bench for last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, the pair both brought on in the second half to leave Dan James (back) and Joe Rodon (hamstring) as the only absentees.

James returned from Wales international duty with a back injury and was ruled out of Saturday's first game back in the Premier League at Arsenal by Farke at last Thursday's pre-match press conference. There was no mention of how long he might be out for.

Rodon, meanwhile, was expected to be looking at eight to ten weeks out with the serious hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw at home to Brentford on August 30.

Farke said at last Thursday's pre-Arsenal press conference that Rodon was making good progress in his rehab but that it would be a bit of time still before he was back.

Leeds will look bounce back from their first defeat of the Premier League season at Arsenal in Sunday’s huge Roses derby at home to arch rivals Manchester United, ahead of which Farke held his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

The Whites boss confirmed that Rodon was still out but that James had returned to training on Thursday and had a chance of being involved.

Speaking firstly about Rodon, Farke said: “Progression. Joe will still miss this game, we are on week seven now so he is edging closer, good progress. It won’t be too long until he is in team training but not yet.

“Daniel James was out for 10 days but since yesterday he had been back on the pitch with us. We have to see how his body reacts but he is back in training. It seems to be improved. There’s a chance that he’ll be involved.”

Farke added that there were no new injuries and that both Wilson and Bahoya had trained as normal this week following their returns from the bench last weekend.

Farke said: “There are always some knocks and slight problems but nothing where a player could be ruled out. We will see what happens in the next two days but we can only rule Joe Rodon out. Harry and Jean-Matteo have trained properly.”
