Former Whites favourite Junior Firpo has had his say following Leeds United’s huge win against Nottingham Forest.

Junior Firpo has made a no nonsense declaration about a Leeds United star following a 17-word message on Friday night’s display against Nottingham Forest.

Eyebrows were raised in some quarters as defensive midfielder Ilia Gruev was handed his 11th Premier League start of the season for Friday night’s huge six-pointer as more attacking options were either named on the bench or left out altogether.

Gruev, though, produced an absolute masterclass, bagging himself two assists in setting up goals for Jayden Bogle and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as part of an all-round stellar display from the Bulgarian midfielder.

After huge praise post-match from boss Daniel Farke, Gruev took to social media to issue a 17-word message on the victory, saluting both the victory and “rocking” atmosphere created by the club’s fans.

“Absolutely rocking”

As far as Gruev’s display was concerned, Firpo was clearly impressed, the ex-Leeds left back taking to social media himself to reply to Gruev and declaring the midfielder as the game’s man of the match.

Taking to Instagram, Gruev wrote: “Yes lads, perfect Friday night under the lights - Elland Road was absolutely rocking tonight. Marching on together.”

The replies featured praise from Whites striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin with the word “maestro” and also praise from ex-Leeds ace Junior Firpo.

Firpo - who left Leeds last summer - wrote simply “MOTM”.
