Young Leeds United forward seals loan move to non-league side with FA Cup debut chance

A Leeds United Academy forward has secured a loan move to a non-league side.

Leeds United Academy forward Jacob Render has secured a loan move to a National League North side and could make a quick new club debut in the FA Cup.

Render, 18, has made seven appearances for Scott Gardner’s Under-21s side so far this season, the striker netting with a superb strike in August’s Premier League 2 clash against West Bromwich Albion.

The forward has already bagged senior experience against Boreham Wood and Solihull Moors in the National League Cup and Render has now joined Enterprise National League North side Darlington on a short-term youth loan.

Render could now make his debut for the Quakers in Saturday afternoon’s FA Cup tie at Redcar Town in the second qualifying round (kick-off 12.30pm).

A Leeds United statement read: “Leeds United can confirm Academy forward Jacob Render has joined Enterprise National League North side Darlington on a short-term youth loan.

“The versatile attacker has made seven appearances for Scott Gardner’s Under-21s side so far this season, notably netting an emphatic strike against West Bromwich Albion Under-21s in the Premier League 2.

“Senior experience has come against Boreham Wood and Solihull Moors in the National League Cup and the 18-year-old now heads to the North East in search of additional first-team football.

“With the deal completed in time, Render is eligible to make his debut for the Quakers in their Emirates FA Cup tie at Redcar Town this afternoon.

“Everyone at Leeds United would like to wish Jacob well during his time away from the club and we will be monitoring his progress closely.”
