Every word Daniel Farke said on Joe Rodon injury, return timeline & Leeds United transfer business ahead of Brighton
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will hold his pre-game press conference ahead of Brighton this afternoon.
Leeds United head to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend and ahead of that trip south, Daniel Farke will speak to the media today.
The Whites have enjoyed a positive start to the campaign with no defeats from their first three games across all competitions. In the Premier League, they’ve taken four points from six on offer, most recently drawing 1-1 at home to an impressive Brentford last weekend.
That result came at a cost, however, with Joe Rodon suffering a hamstring injury during the first half at Elland Road. We’re yet to get an update and the severity of the defender’s issue will be a major discussion point from today’s press conference.

Expect Farke to be asked for an update on Rodon very early in the press conference, with hope the Leeds boss can at least provide a recovery timeline. Should the Welshman miss out, another key topic will surround how he is replaced.
Gabriel Gudmundsson was back in the squad against Brentford last weekend and barring any setbacks, should be fit to feature at Brighton. Farke will also be expected to provide an update on Ilia Gruev who has been back in training for a couple of weeks now.
Farke also has an extra defensive option to call on this weekend, with Melvin Bard’s season-long loan from OGC Nice confirmed on deadline day. He was followed by fellow Frenchman Jean-Matteo Bahoya, whose switch from Eintracht Frankfurt was announced very late on.
Both are eligible to feature at the Amex Stadium on Saturday but while Bard started twice for Nice before his move, Bahoya is yet to feature in competitive action this season. Expect Farke to share his thoughts on the pair and whether they will be in the squad this weekend.
Bahoya’s arrival signalled the end for Willy Gnonto at Leeds, for the next 12 months at least, with the winger joining Fiorentina on deadline day while Largie Ramazani joined Burnley. Farke will likely be quizzed on the pair and what he made of the club’s outgoing business in general.
And this afternoon will also be our first chance to hear from Farke since the window closed. The Leeds boss is usually a bit more open once business is done and will be given the opportunity to provide his verdict on the summer as a whole.
The Whites boss will also no doubt take the chance to praise opposite number and compatriot Fabian Hurzeler, whose Brighton side lost 4-3 at Chelsea last time out. He might also be quizzed on an imminent reunion with £18million summer exit Pascal Struijk.
Daniel Farke is due to speak with the media at 1.30pm this afternoon. Stay tuned for live updates...
