All the latest Leeds United news and transfer rumours as Jesse Marsch searches for answers.

Leeds United are now looking forward again after another disappointing result over the weekend. The Whites suffered a home defeat to newly promoted Fulham on Sunday, and that result extended their winless run to eight games, leaving them in the bottom three.

Jesse Marsch is now under serious pressure to turn things around, and it gets no easier this weekend, with Leeds facing Liverpool at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in poor form themselves, but they boast an incredible home record which spans across a number of years. Leeds are going to need a huge performance to pick up a point or more, but in the meantime, we have taken a look at the latest news and rumours surrounding Elland Road.

Striker options

Leeds are said to be drawing up striking options ahead of the January transfer window. That’s according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

“I’m told they are drawing up names at the moment,” Jones told Give Me Sport. “I think that’s the main pressure right now. It shouldn’t be on Jesse Marsch, it should be on the club helping him find a solution to getting them the goals they need.”

Leeds did sign Willy Gnonto in the January window, but they may need a more experienced option as the Italian develops.

Struijk decision

Leeds star Pascal Struijk has confirmed he will represent the Netherlands over birth country Belgium.

“I think I have now made my choice clear. I want to play for Oranje,” Struijk told Dutch publication Algemeen Dagblad. “It would also not be fair to both coaches, and to the fans of Oranje and Belgium if I first say that I will play for Oranje and then suddenly choose Belgium. Or vice versa. That would not be fair.

“I would be super happy and proud if I were there. But the only way I can influence someone’s choice is through the way I play. So I try to play the best I can. I try to reach my highest level and give the maximum and I’ll see what his choice becomes. If I’m there, great. If I’m not there, then I’m not.”

Struijk has been named in the Netherlands’ extended squad ahead of the World Cup, a list that will be trimmed from 39 to 23 or 26.
