The Whites are set to be young this evening with a number of Mark Jackson's usual Under-23s squad away on international duty.
United kick off their Premier League Cup campaign in the club's opening Group E fixture against the Latics.

19. It’s been a very competitive opening 20 minutes or so in York. Lots of free-kick but Leeds are putting themselves about.

16. There’s a big scramble in the box from McGurk’s delivery. Mullen gets his head on it. Wigan’s goalkeeper can’t claim. Mullen then tries a shot that is blocked before it’s frantically cleared.

13. Ferguson with another great run down the left from full-back. He drills a low ball across the box, it’s defended and falls to Andreucci but his effort is drilled wide of the goal.

10. Wigan are level in their first attack following the opener from Leeds. Pinnington picks out Baningime with a inch-perfect cross and he produces a great diving header.
Leeds ahead early
8. A great start for Leeds United’s youngsters... McGurk whips in a corner. Mullen with a pass back across at the back stick and Moore fires into the roof of the net.
