Barnes fired the Foxes into a 13th-minute lead after a neat one-two with James Maddison but Leeds equalised just two minutes later through a fine finish from Stuart Dallas after Patrick Bamford's through ball.

Leeds continued to cause problems and Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers changed his formation to a back three at the interval but United ensured they left with all three points thanks to second-half strikes from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison.

Bamford unleashed a scorching shot into the top right corner following a precise Raphinha pass whilst Harrison finished off a rapid counter after being left with a tap in from Bamford's square pass.

"We know that that's how they play," Barnes told Leicester City's website, asked about the intense and fast-paced nature of the game.

"They want to play at such a high tempo and make it almost a basketball game.

"As much as we didn't want to do that, I think we sort of fell into that trap and allowed them to sort of play their game.

"Their goal, you look at the first goal, they have hit us on the counter and then of course the one from the (our) set piece we will be really disappointed with that - that can't happen for us.

"We need to make sure that defensively we are solid.

"We are obviously really disappointed.

"We got our noses in front in the game which we knew was going to be important but then I think the goals we conceded we will be really disappointed with.

"Of course we will have a look back at them and look at what we need to do better but I think today was a big missed opportunity to go and get three points because we know how well we can play and I think looking back we are all disappointed."
