The likes of Joel Piroe, Ilia Gruev, Glen Kamara, Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray have all remained mostly injury-free throughout the 2023/24 season, being selected in each of Daniel Farke’s matchday squads, for as long as they’ve been at the club. Others have not been so lucky, sustaining injuries or picking up suspensions that have kept them out for several matches at a time.
The YEP has investigated which players in particular have been out the longest as the entire squad has missed a cumulative 152 games to injury, suspension and other reasons for absence so far this season.
7. Mateo Joseph - Four matches
Young striker Joseph spent the first month of the season on the sidelines but has worked his way back into Farke's thinking lately, starting against Plymouth in the FA Cup Fourth Round replay.
8. Liam Cooper - Five matches
The skipper has had his injury problems in the past and has not been without issue this season, but has largely found himself available, just selected on Farke's bench instead.
9. Sam Byram - Five matches
Another player with a lengthy 'injury CV' as Farke might put it, Byram missed three games during December and then most recently was left out through injury for the 4-0 win over Swansea.
10. Karl Darlow - Seven matches
Darlow has been out since the beginning of the year with a broken thumb, sustained in the warm-up before Leeds' 1-0 defeat by West Brom on December 28.
11. Ian Poveda - Seven matches
The diminutive winger is still on Leeds' books during his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday but is set to depart come the end of the season. He's been unavailable this season through injury and due to international commitments with Colombia.
12. Willy Gnonto - Eight games
Back in form lately, Gnonto has suffered with the occasional injury this season, seeing him six games and an additional two whilst he withdrew from selection during the summer transfer window.
