Illan MeslierAfter impressing during his loan spell at Leeds during the 2019-20 title-winning campaign, where he kept seven clean sheets in just ten league games, the Whites paid FC Lorient the £5m fee to sign the 20-year-old Frenchman on a three-year deal.

RodrigoOn August 29, Leeds United broke their transfer record, announcing the £27m signing of Spaniard Rodrigo. He has joined Leeds on a four-year deal from La Liga outfit Valencia.

The 29-year-old striker comes with plenty of experience having featured in 210 games for Valencia over the last six years in all competitions, including the champions league, scoring 106 goals and getting 28 assists in total. Rodrigo has also played in the Premier League before, scoring one goal in 17 games during a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers in 2010. He has also featured for Spain, scoring four goals and getting one assist in eight games.

Rodrigo has got off to a good start at Leeds, coming off the bench so score Leeds only goal against Manchester City at Elland Road last weekend, earning the Whites an unexpected point. Rodrigo, who has predominantly played as a sole striker throughout his career, will provide strong competition for Patrick Bamford although we have seen him in the number 10 role during his first five games for Leeds.

Robin KochAfter ending their pursuit in 22-year-old Brighton defender Ben White, who was on loan at Leeds during their title-winning season, the Whites turned their attention to Victor Orta’s long-term target Robin Koch and sealed the transfer soon after the arrival or Rodrigo.

The 24-year-old signed a four-year deal at Leeds from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg, costing the Whites a fee in the region of £12m.

Crysencio SummervilleNext through the doors of Thorp Arch was 18-year-old Cresencio Summerville. Arriving from Eredivisie side Feyenoors, Summerville penned a three-year deal, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2023.

Summerville, a winger who possesses good skill and pace in abundance, has been capped at Under-19 level for the Netherlands. He got first-team experience during his loan spell at ADO Den Haag last season, however, has joined up with the Leeds United youths initially.

The winger has got off to a decent start to life in West Yorkshire, making his Under-23s debut during a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Friday, and assisting a goal during the Under-21’s Football league Trophy clash at Barrow on Monday.

Diego LlorenteDespite the arrival of Robin Koch, Leeds United were still on the hunt for a defender and on September 24 managed to secure the signature of Spanish international Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad for a fee in the region of £18m.

The 27-year-old joins Leeds with bags of experience, featuring in 169 games in La Liga since making his professional debut while at Real Madrid in 2014-15. Llorente provides strong competition for Robin Koch but will have to settle for a place on the bench after a solid start to the season from the German.

Dani van den HeuvelSome may say that Leeds didn’t need anymore goalkeepers at the club with Illan Meslier, Kiko Casilla and Elia Caprile already on the books, but this summer Leeds have signed 17-year-old Dani van den Heuvel on a three-year deal from Dutch side Ajax. The shot stopper has initially joined up with the Under-23s.

RaphinhaLeeds left it late on transfer deadline day but managed to complete the £17m signing of winger Raphinha just before the 11pm deadline on Monday. He has signed a four-year deal at Elland Road and will wear the number 18 shirt.

The 23-year-old, who was born and raised in the same city Brazilian star Ronaldinho grew up, has had a meteoric rise in European football. Raphinha shone in his first season at Rennes last year, helping the French side achieve their highest-ever position in Ligue 1, qualifying for the Champions League with a third place finish. This season, he has featured six times for Rennes, scoring one goal and getting two assists.

Raphinha is a quick, creative, skillful player, and is expected to provide strong competition for Helder Costa on the right wing, although he is able to contribute in any of the forward positions. Marcelo Bielsa is sure to have some selection headaches, especially now with having six wingers at the club, but he will know that he now has another very talented player at his disposal.

The full-back’s future at Elland Road seems to be very much over. After signing a four-year contract at Leeds when he joined from Beligan Pro League side Club Brugge in the 2018 January transfer window, De Bock made his debut for Leeds on January 20 2018 in a dramatic 4-3 loss against Millwall at Elland Road. The 27-year-old has featured just six times for Leeds since.

De Bock has now joined up with Belgian top flight side Zulte Waregem for the season, a move that was swiftly sorted this summer. It is his fourth loan spell.

Rafa Mujica

Mujica spent last season on loan with Villarreal and has again returned to Spain to join Real Ovideo on loan for the season. The 21-year-old Spanish forward is another youth player who has found it hard to break into the first team ranks. It remains to be seen whether his long-term future is at Leeds.

Kun Temenuzhkov

The 20-year-old is another development player who has struggled to break into the first team since joining from Barcelona in the 2019 summer transfer window. Temenuzhkov has moved back to Spain, with the striker joining up with Segunda Division B side Real Union in the hope to find regular first team football.

Mateusz Bogusz

Since joining Leeds in 2019, Bogusz has featured heavily for the Under-23s and has been recognised for his effort by Bielsa, being called into the first team three times as well as featuring on the bench. In the hope to gain regular first team minutes, the 19-year-old Polish midfielder has signed for Spanish side Logrones on loan for the 2020-21 campaign, a deal which was announced shortly after the 11pm deadline on Monday evening.
