Lovely news ahead of kick-off!
The afternoon is off to a flying start with the news that former YEP man Phil Hay is recovering in the LGI after successful brain surgery.
Everyone at the YEP wishes him a full recovery. We can’t wait to see you back soon, Phil.
Koch in midfield
1. Well, with the absence of Kalvin Phillips we were wondering how Leeds may line-up. Robin Koch is in midfield and Stuart Dallas has gone out wide on the right.
From Graham Smyth...
“Robin Koch is sitting just in front of a back three for Leeds United. Struijk retains his place at the centre of the defence. Stuart Dallas is wide on the right.”
Leeds free-kick
2. A couple of earlier free-kicks for Leeds in their own half. Alioski and Dallas win them. Bit stop-start so far. Still early days...
Leeds on the ball
4. Leeds seeing plenty of the ball so far. Knocking it around really well at the back. Meslier spreading it to both wing-backs. Early touches for everyone so far.
Leeds attack
5. The first real flurry forward from Leeds of the game. Roberts plays a lovely ball down the left to Klich. The Poland international gets to it but his cross flies straight out of play. Bamford had made a run to the back post.
MESLIER SAVE
7. And now a first opportunity for Brighton. Leandro Trossard works room for a shot in the Leeds box as he gets the ball out of his feet, but Illan Meslier makes a good stop to deny him. The goalkeeper grabs it with both arms.
