Marcelo Bielsa makes two changes

Interesting team news for Leeds United this afternoon as Marcelo Bielsa makes two changes.

Kalvin Phillips and Helder Costa have dropped out of the line-up while Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich have come in.

Costa was doubtful after picking up a back injury last week but we await to hear the issue for Phillips.

Brighton appear to have gone with two up front, which could see Leeds shift to a back three.

From YEP chief writer Graham Smyth, who is on the ground in the Amex stadium...

“The YEP understands Kalvin Phillips misses out today due to a minor niggle.

“His absence hands Robin Koch a return to the starting XI, giving Marcelo Bielsa a choice in the centre of midfield.

“He could simply slot the German international straight into the defensive midfield role, or move Pascal Struijk forward from centre-half.

“With Brighton playing a front two, expect Leeds to revert to a back three.

“It feels likely that Luke Ayling and Diego Llorente will partner Struijk in the back line, with Koch in front of them. Mateusz Klich is back in the side thanks to the injury sustained last week by Helder Costa and he will play in the midfield, with Stuart Dallas moving to right wing-back.”

Raining in Brighton

As the goalkeepers of both sides begin their warm-ups the word on the south coast is that the rain is absolutely lashing down in Brighton.

“The inclusion of Cody Drameh in today's squad will spark excitement back in West Yorkshire.

“His performances this season for the Under 23s have marked him out as a clear long-term successor to Luke Ayling at right-back.

“One of the influx of young players signed by Victor Orta last summer to help build for the future at Elland Road, Drameh has excelled in Mark Jackson's team and were it not for the form and fitness of Ayling this season, might have enjoyed some Premier League minutes already.

“The bench for today's game is almost a perfect blend of youth and experience, with Drameh joining fellow 23s prospects Jack Jenkins and Niall Huggins alongside veterans Pablo Hernandez, Kiko Casilla, Gaetano Berardi and Rodrigo.”

Graham Potter ahead of kick-off

On his team news: “Adam [Lallana] just felt a tightness in his calf. The game came too soon him. It’s disappointing for him and for us. Ben White and Dan Burn come in, hopefully they can give us some balance.”

On needing points quickly in the relegation battle: “It’s an opportunity today. There’s lots of football to play. We want to take the points but we’re playing a team that what to do the same.”

On Leeds: “You have to be defensively good but we have to attack ourselves. We have to get our balance right.”

Bielsa ahead of kick-off

On his his team news: “Kalvin [Phillips] picked up a knock behind his knee. Helder [Costa] has an injury to his back.”

On his time with Leeds: “I always appreciate that Leeds has a lot of patience with me. It’s an orginiastin that is very well structure, it resolves all the problems that football at this high level proposes.”

A word from Graham Smyth...

“Bright sunshine now at the Amex. The voices of Peter Drury and Ally McCoist sadly drowned out by the sound of Bomfunk MC's Freestyler.

“Graham Potter's side can't quite relax yet, with 15 points still to play for and Fulham only seven points back.

“Whether that fact lends itself to risk taking and an open game, we'll soon see.

“For Leeds, as Marcelo Bielsa said, the pressure has to be on all the time becuae they play better with it than without.”
