5. Wow. A warning for Leeds... Lamptey delivers from the left... Moder gets into the box and in front of his man but he can only volley over the bar from close range. Meslier was worried. Let off for Leeds.

5. Firpo wildly swings a leg at Lamptey, who steals the ball in midfield. Yellow card. Phillips then gives another free-kick away on the near side. Seagulls have started the better.

7. The Seagulls should be ahead. Lamptey down the right. It’s flicked across the box by a Brighton attacker and it’s fallen to Maypay. He’s completely alone, has the whole goal to fire home and instead he blazes over the bar. Awful, awful miss. Leeds should be hind. Somehow they’re not.

Leeds struggling early on

10. Llorente not getting any control on the right hand side of the back three. The left hand side isn’t faring much better at present either. Firpo on a yellow really early, against Lamptey. Leeds giving up possession far too easily.

11. Leeds lose possession in the middle, again. Maupay races forward and shoots from distance. Easy save for Meslier. Not much joy at all for Leeds so far. Struggling to keep the ball.

LEEDS PENALTY SHOUT

13. Rapinha goes down in the area, play goes on. It’s waved away, the Brighton defender fell and looked clumsy. Nothing given by Craig Pawson. A bit of a lull before in the match then some Leeds pressure but still no threat on goal at Harrison drags a shot out for a throw-in.

15. United have enjoyed much more of the ball in the last few minutes. But just as I write that Brighton attack...

16. Maupay hits the deck after a surging run from Trossard from his own half. He jumps straight to his feet inside the box which suggests little contact. Lamptey then falls over on the opposite side and nothing is given.

BRIGHTON HIT THE POST

19. Brighton with some pressure - Leeds can’t get out. They’re being pull all over. Trossard suddenly has it on the edge of the box... bang. A great shot at goal and somehow Meslier tips it onto the post with the slighest of touches. Ref gives a goal-kick but it was a wonderful save.

Brighton far better

21. Leeds have swapped back to a 4-1-4-1, but it hasn’t worked for Marcelo Bielsa’s men so far tonight. Brighton have been the far better team and should be ahead.
