Whites no 9 Bamford bagged his first ever Whites treble by completing a rapid 19-minute hat-trick to ensure United made their authority count after a dominant but goalless first half.
The victory sent United third and Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.
1. Illan Meslier
8 - Didn't have too much to do but when called upon was brilliant. Made two big, big stops. Taking to the Premier League with ease.

2. Stuart Dallas
8 - Struggled to contain Grealish in the first half but recovered to defend brilliantly in the second and contributed to attacks.

8 - A captain's performance. Some lovely passes, some vital challenges, a goalline clearance. Had his hands full but battled. Organised too, was vocal throughout. Photo by Michael Steele/Getty Images.
4. Robin Koch
7 - Gave the ball away too many times in the first half, defended well enough before the break. Was much better after it, although Leeds were doing much more of the attacking. Photo by Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images.
5. Gjanni Alioski
7 - Far better in the second half than the first. Produced one fine cross for Bamford even if his end product wasn't always there, but never stopped getting up and down the flank. Photo by Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images.
6. Pascal Struijk
6 - Learned a harsh lesson. Booked for lunging in on Grealish, then walked a tightrope and could have had his marching orders before being substituted on 21 minutes. Photo by Michael Steele/Getty Images.
