‘We have an amazing squad’ 👀

“I think Leeds will have a good season”, was the exciting prediction from Whites star Anton Stach.

The midfielder, who joined the club last summer from Hoffenheim, spoke about the upcoming Premier League campaign with the Yorkshire Evening Post. He is preparing to head into his second season at Elland Road, and it has been an exciting summer so far for fans.

Daniel Farke’s side just broke its transfer record to sign goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City, fresh off a trip to the World Cup with England. While Harry Wilson has also made the switch from Fulham and highly-rated Bosnia and Herzegovina centre-back Tarik Muharemović has signed from Sassuolo.

Speaking to the YEP this week, German international Stach said: “I think Leeds will have a good season.

“We have an amazing squad and we had a good season last year so we try to keep the same standards and play the same, maybe a bit better.”

Fans were also full of excitement ahead of the new campaign when the YEP went down to Elland Road over the weekend.

They were overwhelmingly optimistic, hopeful that Leeds can finish in the top half of the table - and even push for Europe. See what they had to say here.

The Whites will continue pre-season preparation with a game against rivals Manchester United in Dublin on Wednesday (August 12) night. The match is taking place at the legendary Croke Park - and fans could get their first sight of Trafford between the sticks.

Leeds will round-out the pre-season campaign with a home friendly against German side Augsburg on Saturday (August 15) afternoon. The real action will begin the following weekend, with a trip to the Forest Ground to face Nottingham Forest on August 22.

The Premier League will return to Elland Road a week later, with Brentford making the trip up north on Sunday, August 30.
