Goals from Oliver Sarkic, Oriol Rey, Adrian Balboa and Paudie O'Connor put United 4-1 up at the break and Tom Pearce then brought up the nap hand in the second half.

Sarkic fired United into a fourth-minute lead when poking home Tom Pearce's free-kick and the Whites lead was doubled just eight minutes later when Rey converted a Pearce corner.

Virgil Gomis pulled a goal back for Forest eight minutes later when rounding 'keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell before slotting home but United restored their two-goal cushion shortly after the half hour mark when Jack Clarke's fine run ended with a square ball to Balboa who netted.

From another delivery from Pearce, Rey's volley was then saved but only into the path of O'Connor who headed home the rebound on the stroke of half-time.

United then completed a five-star showing with a solo effort from Pearce five minutes after the hour.
