The ins and outs of United's pursuit of Brenden Aaronson

Following the emergence of 21-year-old midfielder Brenden Aaronson as Leeds' top transfer target earlier this week, the YEP's chief football writer Graham Smyth has been assessing the factors at play in the possible switch.

There's many reasons why Aaronson would be a good fit at Elland Road, but will the Whites be able to prize him away from RB Salzburg?

Lee Wingate of The Other Bundesliga podcast has given the YEP the low-down on Aaronson, his role at the Austrian club, and why he'd suit a Marcelo Bielsa side.

“He is a really pacey player who carries the ball well, has a good eye for a team-mate, reads the game well and is an important factor in Salzburg’s build-up play," Wingate said.

"Defensively, he is very energetic and presses from the front.

"I’d imagine he’d be exactly the kind of player Bielsa would want."

Fan who threw missile at Elland Road faces lengthy ban

Leeds claimed their first Premier League win of the season against Watford on Saturday October 2 after Diego Llorente's 18th-minute strike was the difference at the final whistle.

The occasion was marred, though, by an incident involving a football fan throwing a drinks bottle onto the pitch.

The responsible individual was identified and appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court earlier this week.

As well as a hefty fine, the offender faces a lengthy ban from football grounds.

Leeds United cannot afford the asking price for Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz, according to The Mirror.

In his fourth season at Ewood Park, the striker has scored 20 goals for Tony Mowbray's side so far.

Second in the Championship scoring charts to Fulham's Aleksandr Mitrovic, the 22-year-old is one of the second-tier's most exciting prospect and his services have been sought by a number of Premier League clubs this window.

The Whites reportedly won't pay the asking price, though, which the Lancashire club have set at £25m.
