Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 Awards 2026: Yorkshire’s top winners credit teamwork for business growth
Fastest 50 winners reveal secret to Yorkshire business growth
Yorkshire’s fastest growing businesses have been recognised at the Ward Hadaway Yorkshire Fastest 50 Awards in partnership with The Yorkshire Post - and they put teamwork at the heart of success.
Fastest Growing Medium Business of the Year and Overall Winner
ECO Simplified, the Richmond based home energy efficiency specialist, are celebrating a double win - named both overall winner and Fastest Growing Medium Business of the Year.
They described the award as recognition of the team behind the business and the progress made over the past two years.
Zoe Cox, Finance Director at ECO Simplified, said: “It’s been a challenging couple of years, but we’ve managed to get to this point through the strength of the team.
“When we’re working to tight deadlines, everyone comes together to make things happen. That’s been key to what we’ve achieved.
“We are a female-led business, and we have a strong team of women who work extremely hard. We wouldn’t be where we are without them - the team has been central to everything we’ve done.”
“It’s been an incredible period for the business. We’ve achieved a lot in a relatively short space of time, and that comes down to the people we have around us and the way we work together.”
Alongside its commercial expansion, the company continues to support households with energy efficiency improvements, including those experiencing fuel poverty.
“We’re proud to be based in Yorkshire and to carry out this work in the region,” she said. “It’s important to us that we can support people locally as well as across the UK.”
“Everything comes back to the team. If you have the right people around you, working hard and supporting each other, that’s what allows the business to keep moving forward.”
Fastest Growing Large Business of the Year
Wilson Power Holdings, named Fastest Growing Large Business of the Year, has delivered sustained growth through continued investment in engineering capability and manufacturing capacity.
Headquartered in Leeds, the company designs and produces power and distribution transformers used across electricity networks and infrastructure projects. Its products support the reliable transmission of electricity and play a role in the development of energy systems across the UK.
The business has expanded in response to increasing demand for resilient and efficient electrical infrastructure, with a focus on maintaining high technical standards and supporting long-term network performance.
As part of this year’s Fastest 50, Wilson Power Holdings reflects the strength of Yorkshire’s advanced manufacturing sector and its role in supporting critical national infrastructure.
Fastest Growing Small Business of the Year
Wilfreda Luxury Coaches, named Fastest Growing Small Business of the Year, described the award as recognition of the team behind the business.
Phil Haxby, Director at Wilfreda Luxury Coaches, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be here. Even being included in the Fastest 50 was an achievement, so to receive this award is a real endorsement of all the hard work the team has put in.
“We like to think of ourselves as more than a transport provider. We create experiences for people, whether that’s day trips, holidays or travel for schools and businesses. That’s always been at the heart of what we do.
“We’re a family business that’s been operating in Yorkshire for more than 75 years. We’re now into the next generation, and that long-term approach has always shaped how we run the business.
“Everything comes back to the team. It’s about having the right people around you, working together and enjoying what you do day to day. That’s what makes the difference.
“We’ve worked hard to get to this point and we want to continue building on that. The focus is on maintaining the standards we’ve set while continuing to grow the business in a sustainable way.”
