Exciting new future for Holy Trinity Primary Academy Rothwell – new headteacher, new building, bright future

Holy Trinity CofE Academy Rothwell has an exciting new future ahead with new headteacher Gemma Briggs, and a new school building due to break ground in January 2025.

“The school’s vision of love appealed to my own beliefs about education and it means so much to me to be part of a school that is truly at the heart of the community,” said Gemma. With 20 years of teaching experience across Leeds, Miss Briggs is proud to lead Holy Trinity at such an exciting time.

“Holy Trinity is a warm, nurturing place to learn, and the whole school community are looking forward to a purpose built, modern school building that will really demonstrate to our families how important they are, and the level of education their children deserve.”

Part of the community

There is a strong sense of community at Holy Trinity – they are a small school with a big heart placing partnership with parents, carers, and the local community central to their success.

She added: “We believe that by working together, we can provide the best possible start in life for our children. We encourage open communication and value the contributions of all members of our school family. Holy Trinity is a school where the wellbeing and happiness of children are a key focus. We have highly trained staff who support children with their social and emotional development, as well as enabling them to achieve their academic potential.”

State-of-the-art learning environment

As part of the Department for Education School Rebuilding Programme, the new build will be situated on the existing school fields, and once complete will feature the state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with the best technology and also embody our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. To accompany the new school building there will also be extensive outdoor learning environments including a multi-use games ages, a large grass pitch and soft informal play areas.

“We’re excited to see the Holy Trinity site develop and transform over the next two years into a real community hub, but the essence of who we are and what we do well will remain and grow,” added Gemma,
