An end-of-the-season drink for Silver, a donkey which had been giving children rides on the bank of the River Nidd during the summer of 1974. Silver was owned by David Allott who, with his donkeys passed The George Hotel each day on the way home from work. "Donkey Dave," as Mr. Allott was known, said: "We wondered if a drink would buck Silver up one day when he was not too well, and it did. He has enjoyed a brown ale ever since." | YPN Photo: YPN
