They turn back the clock to 1968 and bring into focus local landmarks as well as shops and street scenes which are sure to evoke memories for a generation of people who called Morley home back in the day. The main image shows Wesleyan Sunday School and Institute Building on Queen Street pictured during the last few days of its existence. The notices on the front of the building include confirmation that the site had been purchased by Tesco for building a new supermarket. The gallery is made up of 30 images from the David Atkinson Archive and others published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. A bird's eye view of Morley town centre in August 1968. The area around the Town Hall is mid-way through its redevelopment. The Albert Mill and the Queen's Mill have been completely removed from behind the Town Hall, and the police inspector's house which was beside the Albert Mill in Wellington Street has had to be destroyed. | David Atkinson Archive Photo: David Atkinson Archive

During the Greenback Survey of buildings in Morley in the mid 1980s, this building, no. 10 Wesley Street, was identified as worthy of listing for preservation because it contained features of an old hand loom weaver's cottage.
