The Headrow is the starting point for this wonderful photo gallery charting a year in the life of Leeds in the early 1990s.

City centre shops which a generation of people will remember provide a focus for this rewind to 1991, a year in which Quarry House - nicknamed 'The Kremlin' - was taking shape. These photos also take you out to the city suburbs and feature memories from Armley, Bramham, Kirkstall and Osmondthorpe. The old headmaster's house at Meanwood Church of England Primary School in September 1991. It is empty and boarded up prior to refurbishment and extensions to existing buildings. The stone built property now houses the staff rooms of the school in Green Road. The school dates from 1840 and was built by Christopher Beckett of Meanwood Park. The 1841 census lists Richard Kingston as the schoolmaster in residence.
