The collection of photos captures life around your city and is sure to resonate with a generation of people who called Leeds home at the dawn of a new decade. City centre landmarks are in focus as well as a dash of celebrity sparkle thanks to some well-known faces. The gallery also takes you around the suburbs with Crossgates, Thorp Arch, Bramley, Colton, Kirkstall and Chapeltown all featured as well as Harewood House and Kirkstall Abbey. The images are a mix from the YEP archive and others published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
