This somewhat surreal sight is that of Star Wars fan Gavin Harrison who was planning to walk the 400 miles from Coldstream in Scotland to the BBC Studios in London dressed in a replica Darth Vader suit to raise cash for Children in Need. This was west Leeds in 2016 and the photo is one of 16 charting a year of memories with Pudsey, Bramley, Stanningley, Farsley, Armley and Wortley all in focus. It was a 12 months which featured peope turning out in force for the funeral of WWII veteran after it was feared there were no family or friends to attend the service. And a blue plaque was unveiled to celebrate the life and success of two Yorkshire and England cricketers. READ MORE: Memories of lost Leeds pubs in Pudsey and Stanningley LOVE LEEDS? LOVE NOSTALGIA?
