A procession of current serving military and ex-service men and women will leave Leeds Civic Hall at 10.50m, gather outside Leeds City Museum, and march on to the war memorial at Victoria Gardens where Lord Mayor Coun Jane Dowson will lead the tributes before wreaths are laid.

A two-minute silence will be held at 11am after the Last Post is played. A service will be led by the Rev Canon Sam Corley, the Rector Designate of Leeds, which will be broadcast on two big screens around the memorial so those not near the front can watch the proceedings.

Coun Dowson said: “We will be remembering all those who lost their lives as part of a service which will be held at the war memorial on Victoria Gardens in the city centre. I invite members of the public to join me on the day in what is always a tremendously poignant and moving occasion for all those that are present.”

- A separate service will be held on Armistice Day, Saturday November 11, organised by the Royal British Legion, at the war memorial at 11am.
