Leeds weather: Temperatures set to hit 28C this week according to Met Office as rain is replaced by sunshine
Leeds might finally see some warm summer days as temperatures are set to reach just short of 30C this week.
A mostly washout summer with heavy rain and low temperatures might be coming to an end - at least temporarily.
The UK’s national weather and climate service, the Met Office, forecasts temperatures of around 23C today (Wednesday July 17), with a few clouds blocking out the sunshine every now and then.

A warm, sunny evening is expected to continue overnight and into Thursday (July 18), when the skies will see mostly sunny intervals and temperatures peaking at 24C.
Those hoping for heat matching that of southern Europe are in luck, as Friday (July 19) is expected to be a hot one with temperatures of up to 28C in the afternoon and early evening.
Luckily, some slight overcast will provide a bit of shade, making the scorching sun more tolerable.
But into the weekend, things are likely to return to “normal” as cloudy skies and temperatures of between 20 and 21C are back on the menu.
