Heavy snow has fallen Leeds today with a yellow weather warning issued after a relatively warm winter - here are the latest updates.

A 24-hour yellow weather warning for snow has been issued by the Met Office from 6am today (February 8) to 6am tomorrow (February 9).

Snowfall is causing disruption to traffic and travel - including at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Temperatures will remain low in Leeds throughout the day, not exceeding 2°C until late at night when the snow will be replaced by heavy rain.

What to from a yellow weather warning:

  • There is a chance that some rural communities could become cut off
  • There is a chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
  • There is a chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel

A 24-hour yellow weather warning for snow has been issued from 6am today, while nearby cities such as Bradford are covered by an orange warning.
