Video: Birth control pill protects women's knees study finds

Taking the pill doesn't just stop you getting pregnant but also protects your knees, scientists have discovered. Researchers found that women on the pill were less likely to suffer serious knee injuries. The team from the University of Texas Medical Branch claim that the pill lessens and stabilises the levels of oestrogen which can weaken the cruciate ligament if left unchecked.
