The M62 has been closed in Yorkshire for emergency repairs.
The westbound carriageway is closed between junction 37, Howden, and junction 36, Goole, after being completely flooded.
Highways England says the closure is expected to remain in place “throughout the afternoon”, causing major delays.

Diversion route in full
Diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid diamond diversion symbol.
- Exit the M62 westbound at J37
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and continue for approximately 500 metres to the roundabout with the A614
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A614 and continue for 3 miles until the roundabout with the M62 at J36
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and re-join the M62 westbound
AA confirms road closed after major flooding
An AA update said: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to emergency repairs on M62 Westbound from J37 A614 (Howden) to J36 A614 Rawcliffe Road (Goole).
“Carriageway has been closed for emergency repairs and the road being impassable due to flooding.”
