Call Lane Leeds will now close to traffic overnight to help social distancing at bars

A popular nightlife destination in Leeds will close to traffic every night from tomorrow.

The council will trial the closure of Call Lane from 7pm until 5am until further notice to help social distancing measures.

The street is lined with bars and social distancing barriers are already in the place to widen space on the pavement.

It's hoped pedestrianising the street will provide extra space to help revellers maintain a one metre distance from other households.
