First Bus has reported delays of up to 30 minutes to all services in Leeds, due to heavy traffic across all major city centre routes.

There is severe congestion on the north section of the Outer Ring Road, between Dawsons Corner in Pudsey and Harrogate Road in Moortown.

First Bus has warned that cancellations are likely due to the heavy traffic.

There are also long delays on the M62 near Leeds after a technology issue has resulted in a lane closure.

The hard shoulder was unable to be opened as a separate lane as usual during rush hour, resulting in gridlock on the eastbound carriage.

After months of traffic and transport chaos - plus decades of under-investment - the Yorkshire Evening Post has launched the Unlock the Gridlock campaign.

Leeds MPs from the two main political parties have got behind the campaign to improve the transport system and get the city moving.
