Watch as incredulous police stop Leeds driver balancing sofa on roof of car with hand
Police in Leeds have shared the moment they stopped a driver who was balancing a sofa on the roof of their car by hand.
The crazy moment was recorded as the car made its way through busy traffic in Leeds.
Incredulous West Yorkshire Police officers pulled the driver over amid fears that other road users were at risk. They have since issued a strong warning that this is not a “safe or legal way to travel.”
In a pun-filled statement to Facebook, a police spokesperson said: “Officers didn’t have to give chaise for longue when they spotted this car in traffic in Leeds. A sofa was balanced on top of it, held in place only by the passenger’s hand.
“Needless to say, this isn’t a safe or legal way to travel and puts other road users at risk. A traffic offence report was issued and the sofa removed.
“Our officers remain out on the road network, educating drivers and upholstering the law.”
