Leeds train passengers face disruptions due to ‘flooding’ on Northern major lines

Leeds train passengers are being warned of potential disruption this morning due to ‘flooding’ in other parts of the country.

Northern rail services are being affected on Wednesday (March 25), according to National Rail. Adverse weather conditions in the north west are impacting journeys in the Leeds area.

On its website, National Rail warns: “Multiple reports of flooding are affecting some Northern routes in the north west. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised as a result.

“Train services are now able to run between Carlisle and Skipton in both directions; however, whilst service recovers, trains may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

“Services between Carlisle and Leeds may be affected by this disruption. You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.”

National Rail adds: “Northern strongly advises that you check your journey before travel due to the changeable adverse weather conditions.

“Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.”
