Some 155 properties in Leeds were without water for more than five hours because of a burst water pipe.

Yorkshire Water first warned of the disruption at around 10.15am, saying homes in the LS13 area of the city had been affected.

It said supplies had been shut off to allow ‘essential repairs’ to the pipe in Rodley Lane.

Offering an update on Twitter this afternoon, Yorkshire Water said: “Overland supply is now up and running, so supplies should be coming back on.

“We will need to do a road closure to complete the repair, this is to be done shortly. Further updates to come.”
