Try your hand at Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive thinking it was the actual best thing since sliced bread and what about Street Fighter 2 which caused a storm when it was released in the early 90s.

If all of these things leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart of nostalgiac childhood memories then this event of all things retro will put you right back in your childhood years.

“Collectorabilia - A Blast from the Past” features retro toys, games, comics, collectibles and geeky arts and crafts.

There will be over 60 trade stalls and a gaming area to see if you are still as good as you once were at SuperMariokart.

It is being held at Leeds Town hall next Saturday from 11am to 5pm and has been organised by Steve Smith, organiser and founder of Retro Events.

It is the fifth such event but he says this will be the biggest one yet.

He said: “Over the last 18 months we have gone from an idea of reuniting people with the toys and games of yesteryear to being able to fill the whole of the Leeds Town Hall with treasures of our youth.

“I wanted to create an event where people don’t have to go to ebay or get up at the crack of dawn in the hope that someone on a car boot stall is clearing out their old toys/games.”

Entry £2, free entry for accompanied under 16s.

Yorkshire Cosplayers Heroes and Villains will be there dressed as comic book alter egos, and the Sentinel Squad UK will be in attendance in Star Wars costumes
