Primary pupils take over their school

Year six pupils from Chapel Allerton Primary School seized power during Takeover Day. They applied to be teachers, ICT technicians, office managers and teaching assistants, and spent a day in their posts after a formal interview. They even had access to the staff room. Lauren Hylton acted as headteacher, and gave an assembly to 450 children. Rufus Khan-O'Connor solved laptop problems and Dea Cela ran the office. Maya Densley took the role of deputy head and Skye Marshall taught year two.

Vanshika Bhogal, who taught year one, said:

“I loved testing the children on their spellings because the children listened to every word I said were absolutely lovely”.
