It follows an application from Purple Door last year, asking for permission to open from 10pm-5am on Sunday to Thursday, and 10pm-6am on Friday and Saturday. The application was approved but the extension in hours was turned down.

In 2013, Leeds City Council’s executive board ruled that there should be no more than four sexual entertainment venues in the city centre.

Whiskey Down in Crown Street and Silks in Sovereign Place, met with Leeds City Council decision-makers back in August to renew their sexual entertainment licences, with the authority confirming permission has been extended for a further year.

Members of the council’s licensing sub-committee will meet on Wednesday, December 2 to discuss the applications.
