Cash machine firm NCR Atleos proposed to place the machine in the shop entrance on main street.

Leeds City Council said the installation would be in keeping with its surroundings.

A planning officer’s report said: “The ATM would appear dimly lit and of minor scale, set flush within an existing shopfront in a small commercial area.

“As such, it would be in keeping with its locality and have no harmful impacts to visual or residential amenity.”

The council also assessed whether the machine would be harmful to road safety.

The report said: “It is considered that the installation of the ATM will not result in any adverse impact on the highway network.”

The applicant said the machine would be accessible to disabled customers and covered by CCTV.

The site was assessed for potential risk of crime by a cash-in-transit company.
