The pooches are currently in the care of Dogs Trust Leeds, with many coming from tragic backgrounds. If you are looking to welcome a four-legged friend into your home, the Trust will help you find your perfect match. Here are 11 pups that are currently in need of a permanent home.
7. Billy - 8 and over
At 13 years young, Billy prefers a quieter style of life, but he still enjoys being fussed over and taken on walks. He has very little eyesight, but is able to map out his environment quickly and manages well. He is currently staying in a foster home and has some ongoing medical requirements, so potential owners must be aware of ongoing costs. Breed: Lhasa Apso. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
8. Buddy and Alfie - 8 and over
This cute duo are looking for a forever home together and need to be the only pets in an adult-only home so they can have all the attention. At 13 and 11, they prefer quieter environments and still love going on walks. Breed: Jack Russell Terrier. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
9. George - 8 and over
This sweet older gent is looking for a home with a comfy sofa and a large enclosed garden to play in. Sadly George is blind and has arthritis in his legs, so he will need a gradual introduction to his home. He is super friendly, clever and affectionate, and would love his new owners to be around most of the time for company. Cocker Spaniel. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
10. Jessie - 8 and over
Jessie may be eight years old, she is still very playful and has an infectious love of life. She is friendly with her handlers but is avoidant of other dogs, so would need to be the only dog in an adult-only home, and walked in quieter areas. Breed: Staffordshire Cross. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
11. Tasha - 8 and over
Tasha is very friendly with everyone she meets and loves being around people. However, she isn’t as keen on other dogs so she needs to be walked in quieter areas, and will require a little patience as she settles into her new home. Breed: Akita. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
