St Gemma’s Hospice event manager Pete Watson said the Dash is a fantastic Christmassy event for adults and children of all ages and abilities.

"‘We are proud to be hosting this special event once again, and it really does get bigger and better each year," he said. "We’ve already had an unprecedented response this year, with over 600 people already signed up to take part and hundreds more expected."

Mr Watson added: "All the participants raise sponsorship by taking part in this event - this enables St Gemma’s to continue providing the best possible care and quality of life for local people living with cancer and other life limiting illnesses, free of charge."
