School of Rock - The Musical opens online auditions for young Leeds musicians

School of Rock - The Musical is being staged at Leeds Grand Theatre from Monday, May 15, to Saturday, May 20, 2021 as part of a UK tour.

With mini rockers across the country currently being taught at the school of ‘mum and dad,’ the producers are putting a call out for young musicians to join The Band.

They are keen to fill the following roles: pop/rock/gospel boy and girl singers, guitar players who must be able to ‘shred’, bass guitar players, killer drummers and genius keyboard players.

All entrants must be young adults aged eight to 12, height under 4ft 10ins.

Based on the hilarious hit movie, this new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band – sensationally performed live by the production’s young actors every night with roof-raising energy!
