"Much-loved" mum who died after being hit by car named by police

A "much-loved mum" who died after being hit by a car in West Yorkshire has been named by police.

Jeanette Mason 53, died at the scene of the crash which took place at 9am on Wakefield Road, Huddersfield, at the junction with Waterloo Road on Friday (May 14).

Her family have released a tribute, describing Jeanette as a “much loved mum, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and grandma" and "special friend to many".

Jeanette's family added: "She will be sadly missed".

The driver of the Fiat Panda involved in the crash has been interviewed and released under investigation.

The police are still investigating the circumstances of this collision and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or phone footage of the incident to come forward.
