In Good Company, which has created striking murals and artwork across the city, is now aiming to decorate the nation's homes, gardens, businesses and community spaces by creating banners conveying thanks and positivity for NHS and key workers.

The 'Posters for the People' project has brought together eight artists to create vibrant posters that people can buy to display wherever they want - with funds raised going straight to charity.

The project is the brainchild of In Good Company founder Laura Wellington who said: "I was inspired by the weekly applause and the rainbow artworks popping up on pavements and in windows. It all started with a massive billboard in Leeds designed by artist Morag Myerscough (at Hyde Park Corner).

"We wanted to create masses of fabulous billboards and posters across the UK as we wanted the art to be for everyone across the whole country.

"We turned the first one around in just 72 hours, but it quickly became clear that the national billboard process was just too slow, so we decided to give the power to the people.”

The designs feature messages including ‘You’re all going to deserve medals after this’, ‘Conversations make rainbows’ and ‘Our super-heroes we love you’.

The eight artists involved are: Morag Myerscough, Studio Build, Rebecca Strickson Illustration, Anthony Burrill, FYI, Luke Tonge, Craig Black and Risotto Studio, with all profits going to eight charities chosen by the artists.

Morag said: “I had no hesitation in agreeing to work with In Good Company on this project. At a time when we are all forced to stay indoors, I think it’s really significant that Laura is still seeking to make art outdoors and to lift the spirits of those working so hard to keep us all safe.”

Banners will cost £19.80, including shipping, sized at 1m x 750mm. Custom sizes are also available.
