The billboard at one of Leeds’ most sought-after and recognised poster sites, Hyde Park Corner, has been emblazoned with a vibrant thank you message reading ‘Our super-heroes, we love you.’

Street art project, In Good Company, turned around the billboard in just 72 hours after founder, Laura Wellington, contacted artist, Morag Myerscough, to see if she would be willing to create a site specific piece of work designed to celebrate the heroic efforts of NHS staff and key workers and to communicate the gratitude of the people of Leeds.

The project was supported by Leeds-based brand, advertising agency FYI, who produced the massive 48 sheet poster.

Laura Wellington, of In Good Company, said: “We were inspired by the national outpouring of gratitude to the NHS workers and wanted to do something in our home city. Our mission is to bring businesses and artists together, to bring art and colour to otherwise grey spaces in Leeds.

"Now, more than ever, it seems important to push hard to make good things happen. We truly do believe our frontline staff will deserve medals after this. We really hope Morag’s uplifting art and the positive message will bring a smile to those working tirelessly on the frontline here in Leeds and beyond. I’d love to hear from other cities and businesses who would like to create art for their key workers.”

The billboard at Hyde Park Corner will remain for the next three and Ms Myerscough added: “I had no hesitation in agreeing to work with In Good Company on this project. At a time when we are all forced to stay indoors I think it’s really significant that Laura and her colleagues are still seeking to make art outdoors and to lift the spirits of those working so hard to keep us all safe.”
